PROJECT PRESENTATION:

HUMANOPHOBIA is a 2D top-down puzzle/infiltration game. In HUMANOPHOBIA, the player takes on the role of a ghost whose rest is constantly disturbed by ghost hunters. He can move around, changing and advancing the scenery and environment to accomplish different objectives that will help to frighten off these accursed hunters!

CONTEXT:

HUMANOPHOBIA is a prototype produced in 48 hours as part of GameMaker’s ToolKit GameJam 2023 whose theme was “Roles reversed”. It was made with 5 other people met digitally for the occasion.

MY WORK:

On this project, I set up project management tools to ensure that the project ran as smoothly as possible within the allotted time, using a Discord server to streamline internal communication, a Google Drive for file exchange, and Trello to assign different tasks to different team members while prioritizing needs and requests throughout the project. I worked on the ideas and basic concept of the game, on the flow of the various stages, on the level design and distribution of rooms and important elements, on the main character’s movements, on the ghost hunters, their behavior, movements and interactions with the level, the various traps implemented, their operation and layout, the story and the integration of elements.
As the project was too ambitious for a GameJam, we decided to continue it afterwards. We’re currently working on it, and hope to release a more functional, complete and accomplished version in the coming weeks. Thank you for your patience!
